OverviewThe TITG program was developed in 1999 in order to provide assistance to Ohio businesses to get the training necessary to stay competitive and become more productive. EnterpriseOhio network campuses (2-year colleges) will partner with these businesses to provide the training and assessments to meet this need. TITG focuses on three specific areas for assessment and training:
Each campus will receive an equal allocation from the Jobs Challenge Fund, Targeted Industries Training Grant line item at the beginning of the fiscal year to participate in this program. Companies that have less than 100 total employees may be eligible for a maximum of 75% of the training cost to be covered by the TITG. Companies with over 100 total employees are eligible for a maximum of 50% of the training cost to be covered by the TITG. The EON campus representative may use any percentage up to the maximum for each grant, depending on available funds. The grant can also only cover costs up to $650 per employee trained.Grants average $6-9,000 per company.
It is the intent of the Jobs Challenge, Targeted Industries Grant program to support the economic development of each EnterpriseOhio Network campus. Therefore, an EnterpriseOhio Network campus is required to expend its Jobs Challenge Targeted industries Training Grant funds only to provide workforce assessment, training and related services in that campus' particular service area.
One EnterpriseOhio Network campus will not use or release those grant funds to support delivery of workforce development or any other services in a second campus' service area.
ReportingThere are three types of reports that are involved in the TITG program. They are the progress report, completion report, and final report. These reports are completed online, and can be found on the same page as the application. A progress report can be completed halfway through the training, if the training period is more than 6 months. If the training is less than 6 months, a progress report does not need to be filed. The completion report should be completed as soon as the training is finished. This report allows you to briefly describe how the training went.
The final report must be done within 6 months of the end of the training period, and must be submitted by the last business day of the calendar year. This report gives the impact data results that the company agreed to track in the initial grant application.
