Bethany Dentler was appointed as the Executive Director of the Medina County Economic Development Corporation in October, 2008. She earned the designation of Certified Economic Developer from the International Economic Development Council in 2000.

Prior to joining Medina County, she served as the Economic Development Director for the Norwalk Economic Development Corporation from 2003 to 2008.

Ms. Dentler is currently a Director on the Board of the Ohio Economic Development Association. Her past board service also included positions on the Huron County Workforce Investment Board and the Huron County Development Council.

As a certified professional in the economic development field, Ms. Dentler has taught classes in business retention and expansion, strategic planning, and basic economic development for community leaders. She also taught courses in microeconomics at Bowling Green State University’s Firelands campus in 2007.

From 1997 to 2003, Ms. Dentler was a Business Development Specialist for the Howard County Economic Development Authority in Columbia, Maryland. Between 2000 and 2003, she served on the Board of Directors for the Southern Economic Development Council as both the Alternate Director and the Director representing the State of Maryland and the District of Columbia.

From 1995 to 1997, Ms. Dentler was a Community Development Specialist and Director of Marketing for the Council for Economic & Business Opportunity in Baltimore City. In the early 1990s, she taught English in the People’s Republic of China at the Tianjin Institute of Foreign Trade.

She graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Goucher College in Towson, Maryland with a Bachelor’s Degree in English and Economics. Ms. Dentler holds a Master’s Degree in Economics from the University of Maryland.
