DESCRIPTION:To celebrate the accomplishments of Medina County companies\, the Medina County Economic Development Corporation has partnered again with Westfield Bank to present the Medina County Business Awards. To nominate a company\, please click here to submit an online nomination\, prior to June 1\, 2024. \nThe 2024 Annual Medina County Business Awards \nThe deadline for nominations is June 1\, 2024. All applicants will be notified and asked to participate in an interview with members of the Preliminary Judging Panel prior to August 1\, 2024. An independent judge’s panel will evaluate the nominations based on the nomination form and the information gathered from the nominees during the interview. Applicants will be honored at the 2024 Annual MCEDC Business Awards to be held on the evening of Thursday\, October 22\, 2024\, at the Blair Center in Westfield Center\, Ohio\, where the winners will be announced. \nBelow is a brief description of each of the five award categories as well as links to the applications. Please consider nominating individuals\, companies\, customers or associates that fit the criteria; which could include you. There is no limit to the number of deserving candidates you may nominate. \nPlease circulate the nomination forms throughout your organization to ensure that the most worthy candidates are recognized. \nFor any questions about the awards nomination process\, please contact MCEDC at 330-722-9295 or spatterson@medinacounty.org. \nCapital Investment Award\nThis award honors a Medina County business with a significant capital investment in calendar year 2023 that has provided a sustainable increase in revenue and/or employment or has enhanced our community’s appeal by expanding\, building or renovating a structure in the county. \nNominees will be contacted for an interview prior to August 1\, 2024. In order to be considered for an award\, company must be willing to be interviewed and provide all necessary information. \nPotential Interview Questions: \n\nPlease provide a brief overview of your company.\nPlease describe the project for which you were nominated.\nWhat was the reason for the investment?\nWhat was the investment amount and what funding sources were used? (i.e. private capital\, bank loan\, grant\, etc.)\nPlease provide the following information:\n\nTotal amount invested in machinery/equipment\nTotal amount invested in construction/real property improvements\nAdditional square footage resulting from project\nAdditional employment resulting from project\nCompany revenue in 2022\nWhat do you anticipate the impact of your project to be in the next 5 years both on your company and on Medina County?\n\n\n\nJudging Criteria: \n\nImpact on Medina County business community\nAmount and source of funding\nAdditional employment resulting from project\nRatio of project investment to company revenue\n\nBusiness Growth\nThis award honors a Medina County company that has averaged or sustained growth in revenue and employment for at least five (5) years.\nNominees will be contacted for an interview prior to August 1\, 2024. It recognizes outstanding civic contributions to the continued economic development of Medina County communities. \nNominees will be contacted for an interview prior to August 1\, 2024.
